I’m Nick Jackson, a Dorset-based potter/ceramic artist creating unique handmade pieces inspired by the local landscape and coastline. Each piece is individually crafted – whether wheel-thrown, hand-built. – I use my own glazes and commercial glazes, meaning no two are ever alike. The pottery pieces are fired in an electric kiln and or a raku kiln. My aim is simple: to make ceramics that are both beautiful and functional, a joy to own and use.

I first trained as a silversmith and goldsmith in London, running my own workshop before a career in arboriculture and landscape management brought me back to Dorset. A pottery evening class soon reignited my creative spark, and I went on to set up my own pottery in my garden studio.
Drawing on my background in fine metalwork and my love of Dorset’s landscapes, I create wheel-thrown, hand-built ceramics that are always unique. Today I exhibit across the West Country and sell my work worldwide, making pieces that are as beautiful to use as they are to display.

I create ceramics from my garden studio, where the coastline, woodlands, and countryside constantly inspire me. Each piece begins with clay and ends with something unrepeatable – whether a Raku-fired sculpture or a simple mug made for daily use. They are objects designed to be lived with, treasured, and passed on.
